Notification of the location of animal keeping

In order to keep certain animal species, the operator must submit a notification of the location of animal keeping to the register of animal keepers.
Such animals are
- bovine
- pigs
- sheep
- goats
- poultry
- bees
- bumble bees
- fur animals
- farmed rabbits
- camels and deers (except reindeer of herding communities in the reindeer management areas)
- equidae.
The Finnish Food Authority is responsible for the operation of the register of animal keepers.
The notification for the animal keeping location must be made irrespective of the number of animals or the intended use of the animals. Registration must be done before starting animal keeping. In connection with the registration of an animal keeping location, information on the animal keeping activities for each animal species must also be registered with a separate notification.
Do the following
Submit the notification of the location of animal keeping in the e-service of the animal keeper and location register. Alternatively, you can submit the notification on a form to the Rural Livelihood Authority of your municipality or federation of municipalities who will enter your animal keeping location in the animal keeper register.
Remember to also report your animal keeping.
The notification for the animal keeping location is made using the Finnish Food Authority's form "Notification and instructions on animal keeping activities" or in the online service of the register of animal keepers and their locations.
To whom and on what terms
The registration can be made if the animal keeper has filled in all the necessary information in the e-service of the register of animal keepers and locations.
The animal keeper must make a notification of the suspension or cessation of animal husbandry in the e-service of the register of animal keepers and locations. Alternatively, you can use the form to submit it to the municipal Rural Livelihood Authority.
A trader established in another European Economic Area that provides its services in Finland on a temporary basis is required to submit the same notifications as a trader established in Finland.
