Advice in cross-border consumer issues

The ECCF disseminates information on consumer issues related to cross-border trade. Do the following

  • In a problem situation, first file a written complaint with the vendor company (e.g. by email).
  • If necessary, use the complaint templates translated into English available on the European Consumer Centre Finland website.
  • You can also ask for assistance from the Centre either electronically or by telephone.
  • If you have a claim against a vendor operating in another EU Member State, the best way of getting your claim processed is by filling in an online form at.

If your complaint concerns a Finnish company or a company operating in a country outside the EU area (such as Switzerland, China, Thailand or the U.S.), please contact the Consumer Advisory Services of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.

The European Consumer Centre Finland can only assist in problem situations, where the purchases or orders have been made outside Finland, in another EU Member State, Norway or Iceland.
