Nature House Villa Elfvik
- Public service
Nature House Villa Elfvik is the environmental education centre of the City of Espoo and a valuable Art Nouveau villa. The offerings of the nature house promote a sustainable lifestyle by giving the visitors tools to act in a more sustainable way.
Sustainable operating methods can also be seen in the daily activities of the house. The Long Live Espoo expedition on the ground floor presents the valuable nature of Espoo. The house also hosts changing exhibitions. The nature house is situated on the edge of the Laajalahti Nature Reserve. Several short nature trails begin at the yard.
The programme offered by the nature house includes free nature excursions (seasonal excursions in May and September, Sunday excursions for the whole family in June–September, other themed excursions), public events, etc. The facilities of the house can be rented for private use or meetings. Environmental education exhibition materials can be borrowed at the nature house. At weekends, café Elfvik serves visitors during the opening hours of the nature house.
