Expense allowance for days of participation in services organised by the TE Office

The TE Office or local government pilot will pay you a discretionary expense allowance if you do not have a job and participate in.
Employment promoting measures for which compensation for expenses can be paid include
- self-motivated study by immigrants,
- labour market training,
- job search training or career counselling,
- work experience placements, and
- rehabilitative work activity.

If you receive unemployment security, Kela or the unemployment fund will grant the expense allowance in connection with the payment of your unemployment security, and you do not have to apply for it separately.
If you are not entitled to unemployment security, discuss your possibility of receiving a discretionary expense allowance with an expert of the TE Office or local government pilot. When applying for allowance, fill in the form Expense allowance for which you apply to the TE Office (TEM 630) and submit the form to the TE Office or the local government pilot. You must apply for expense allowance within a month after the end of the payment period. Expense allowance will be paid in arrears.
To whom and on what terms
The TE Office or local government pilot may pay you discretionary expense allowance if you are not entitled to compensation paid by an unemployment fund or Kela. The TE Office or local government pilot cannot pay a discretionary expense allowance if you have the opportunity to receive unemployment security.
