When practising operations of animal killing or killing large numbers of animals at once (for example, killing fur animals or hens that no longer lay eggs) regularly, the Regional State Administrative Agency must be notified in writing well in advance before commencing the operations.

Do the following
If you are planning on practising operations of animal killing, or you regularly kill large numbers of farm animals, follow these steps.
- Learn about animal protection requirements for killing of animals.
- Find out whether you need a competency certificate to kill animals.
- Device instructions for the operations that describe how the operations to kill animals are performed. Prepare to give the instructions for a supervisory authority to read.
- Fill out a form “Notification about operations of animal killing” and submit it to the registry of the Regional State Administrative Agency in whose area your operations mainly take place.
- For fur farming, remember to submit the notification annually before the pelting season begins.
- Remember to notify the Regional State Administrative Agency also in case your operations are terminated or changed significantly.
To whom and on what terms
The animal must be killed in a way that it does not experience any avoidable pain, discomfort or suffering. The requirements of animal welfare legislation must be observed when killing animals. All operations concerning killing of animals must be described in the instructions for the operations, which have to be delivered to the supervisory authority when requested.
Deadline
Submit the notification well in advance before commencing the operations.
Processing time
Notifications are filed by the Regional State Administrative Agency and the operator will be contacted if necessary.
Period of validity
The notification must be submitted at the start of operations, if the operations change significantly or if they are terminated.
