Self-care services at health stations, provided at self-care points (Ite points), support independent health care by residents and promote wellbeing. Each health station has its own self-care point available during the station hours.

Self-care points are places where anyone can easily and quickly perform simple health checks and review materials that promote health.

Background information

Self-treatment means treating one’s health issues according to the instructions given. Patients are supported by health care professionals who are available to help upon request. The treatment is planned together with health and social services. The professionals provide advice on various areas, such as medication, nutrition, the use of care products and independent rehabilitation.

If the patient’s health or illness changes unexpectedly during their self-treatment phase, they must contact the personnel in charge of their care without delay.
