A posted worker is a person who normally works in a country other than Finland and who is posted to Finland for a limited period of time during the employment relationship by an employer established in another country and engaged in activities in that country.

According to the directive concerning posted workers (96/71/EC), each EU member state must have a responsible authority for posted workers. In Finland, the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland is the responsible authority.
