Consumer fireworks (fireworks sold in shops)

The use of fireworks without a separate report to the Rescue Department is allowed between 31 December, 6.00 pm and 1 January, 2.00 am. The use of fireworks at other times must be reported at least 5 days before the event to the local rescue authority. The report is made with the Ilotulitteiden käyttö (Use of fireworks) form.

Professional fireworks (fireworks shows)

The organisation of a fireworks show must be reported to the local police at least seven days before the show is held. If necessary, the police consult the municipal rescue authority regarding the report. The police also notify the rescue authorities and the Emergency Response Centre about the show.
