A fire inspection is a surveillance visit carried out by the rescue authority. Fire inspections monitor compliance with obligations based on the Rescue Act and the Chemical Safety Act and provide advice and instructions for developing safety. A record of the inspection is drawn up.

In case of serious safety deficiencies, the rescue authority may issue repair orders or recommendations as needed.

Fire inspections of residential buildings and leisure properties can be carried out as self-evaluation of fire safety.

The Rescue Department carries out the scheduled fire inspection in its region, in accordance with the control plan, as well as other control assignments and regional risk management measures. The control of residential buildings is carried out as in-house control.

Do the following

The rescue department agrees upon a fire inspection with the person responsible for the fire inspection site.

Allow the fire inspector to access all areas and sites that are part of the inspection. Provide all necessary documents to the inspector.
