Apply for the exceptional permit in writing from the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland. You can use the application form Exceptional permit for period-based work. Attach a report of hearing the employee representative to the application. Submit the application and its appendices to the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland.
To whom and on what terms
The exceptional permit requires that period-based work is absolutely necessary. The grounds for why the applicant considers that the use of period-based work is necessary must be specified in the application.
The employer must provide the employee representative (shop steward or elected representative or, in the absence of these, occupational safety and health representative) with an opportunity to be heard on the application for a permit. If there is no such representative at the workplace, the opportunity to be heard must be reserved to all employees that the permit application concerns.
Deadline
Submit the permit application to the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland before applied period of validity starts. The exceptional permit is not granted retroactively.
Processing time
The processing time is 30 days after the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland has received all documents required for the permit application.
Period of validity
The period of validity of the permit is specified in the decision concerning it. The permit application must specify the period for which the permit is applied.
