European Union Charitable Food Aid

Employment Unit Risteys deals out EU-financed charitable food aid in Sipoo in cooperation with the Sipoo parishes’ welfare workers.
The food products are delivered by the European Union Food Aid and the Finnish Food Authority, who also determine the amounts according to the family size. Church social workers take care of distribution of the food aid.
As far as storage and distribution of the food products is concerned, the municipal Employment Unit Risteys sees to appropriate handling of the food products and compilation of distribution statistics, and sees to that food waste is processed and recycled according to rules and regulations.
