Coaching for independent living
- Public service
Coaching for independent living refers to a fixed-term period during which a person with a disability practices independent living skills and undergoes an assessment of these skills.
The purpose of the coaching is to:
-assess your everyday skills, resources and capabilities
-identify your individual needs for support and assistance
-practice living skills.
Coaching for independent living includes exploring everyday solutions, support measures and services that enable you to live as independently as possible. Coaching can be arranged in your own home or in a housing unit that has staff around the clock or only during the day, depending on your needs.
The aim is that after the coaching, you and the Disability Services employee will have a good understanding of your independent living skills and information on the form of housing that would suit you best.
