Do the following

You can request the statement from the Centre if you haven’t yet started your service or are currently attending the training. The Centre can give the statement in writing to yourself or by telephone to the passport authority.

If you are already in a placement, request the statement from your supervisor. The placement organisation can give the statement in writing to yourself or by telephone to the passport authority.

The placement organisation should use the statement template available in the instructions for alternative civil service (TEM2313/00.05.02/2016).

To whom and on what terms

The statement declares you qualified to apply for a passport, identity document or other travel document if you have completed your alternative civil service or are exempted from service.

If you have not started or fully completed your alternative civil service, Civilian Service Centre or the placement organisation can recommend you for a passport up to the end of the year in which you turn 28.

The Civilian Service Centre will process statement requests as urgent.
