At HUS, we treat all diseases requiring specialist pediatric medical care in the Helsinki metropolitan area. We are responsible for pediatrics, pediatric surgery, pediatric neurology, and child psychiatry activities in the Uusimaa region.

In Finland, the treatment of many demanding pediatric illnesses, such as cardiac surgery, organ transplantation and the treatment of severe cases of cancer, has been concentrated in the New Children's Hospital.

We treat patients from newborns until 15 years of age. The well-being and equality of patients and families form the starting point for our activities. Pediatric psychiatry treats children aged under 13. In the Adolescent Psychiatry unit, we treat young people aged 13–22.

We also treat children at the Eye and Ear Hospital, Skin and Allergy Hospital, and Töölö Hospital.
