How to apply
Grant applications should primarily be submitted through the built heritage e-service (Application for built heritage maintenance grant). Address the application to the ELY Centre responsible for the area in which the heritage site is located.
If you are unable to use the online form, you can use a printed application form instead. Send the application as an attachment to the general online form to the registry of the ELY Centre. You can also send the form by post. The ELY Centres’ contact information is available under Service Locations.
Applying for payments
If your grant application is approved, you can request payment after the work has been duly completed. Use the payment application form with separate instructions.
Send your payment application form as an attachment to the general online form of the ELY Centre directly to the registry of the ELY Centre that approved your grant application. There are separate online forms for organisations and private citizens. Choose the appropriate ELY Centre under Asia > Virasto in the online form. Alternatively, you can send your application by post to a payment unit location of the KEHA-Centre. See the KEHA-Centre website for contact information.
To whom and on what terms
Private owners of buildings, communities promoting the maintenance of built heritage, municipalities and joint municipal authorities can apply for the grant.
Before applying, obtain the necessary information about the site (location, cultural value and conservation status) and the renovation project (an estimate of the condition, a repair plan and a cost estimate).
The application period closes on 30 November each year. The processing time is about six months.
The service is free of charge.
