Applying for construction and operation permissions

Construction generally requires a building permit or another approval by an authority. The extension of a building, significant repairs and alterations and a change of purpose also require a building or operation permit. The issue is stipulated in the Land Use and Building Act. The municipality’s Building Code may also define which operations are subject to permission or declaration.
