- Public service
Air shows and races require Traficom’s permission. Apply for the permission with an air show application at least 30 days before the planned event.
Air shows and aerobatics demonstrations organised in Finland are covered by the aviation regulation OPS M1-2. The regulation contains an appendix regarding safety standards, which must be taken into account when planning air shows or aerobatics demonstrations. The requirements concerning parachuting in an air show are set out in the aviation regulation OPS M6-1. For parachuting, you must follow the instructions issued on the basis of the aviation regulation OPS M6-1 that have been approved by Traficom.
In addition to the permit granted by Traficom, an air show or race requires permission from a police authority or at least a notification to the police. For more information on the permit granted by the police, contact the police in your own locality.
