Hospital District of Southwest Finland (VSSHP) is a public joint municipal authority that produces specialised health care services in the Turku University Hospitals (TUS). The Hospital District's emergency services are provided by the Emergency Medical Services (Tyks Acute) at its service points.
The hospital district offers extensive specialised health care services to the residents of the region. The district consists of 28 member municipalities with a total of over 470 000 residents. More than 200 000 people use the services of the Turku University Hospital a year. We employ approximately 8000 people. As a university hospital district we continually conduct research, develop our treatment methods and services.
