Legislative drafting

Finnish society and the way in which it works are governed by the laws enacted by Parliament. Most of legislative motions considered by Parliament are legislative proposals submitted by the Government. Laws are drafted in the ministries under whose mandate the matter falls. The body preparing the law must request comments from citizens and central interest groups as part of each legislative drafting process. The task of the Ministry of Justice is to improve legislative drafting in the Government.
