Occupational safety

Some occupations are associated with risks to health and safety and exposure to illness and disease. The aim of the Health and Safety at Work Act is to protect the health and working environment of employees. Occupational safety affects all employees. Everyone needs to be aware of the dangers that exist in their working environment and know how to protect themselves from them.

Employers have to take out statutory accident insurance in the event of accidents at work. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that their employees keep safe and healthy at work. Every company has to have a health and safety officer, and companies with 10 employees or more choose an occupational safety representative from among themselves.
