Travelling in the EU

EU nationals travelling in other Member States are entitled to freedom of movement, residence for up to three months without formalities, and health care. A European medical card issued by KELA entitles the holder to public medical care in the EU Member States. A Finnish driving licence and a vehicle registration certificate entitle the holder to drive in all Member States.

An EU national may purchase goods and services in another Member State subject to the same tax conditions as nationals in that country and import them free of tax into his or her country, with certain exceptions. These are mainly connected with the purchase of vehicles and purchases made for commercial purposes.
