Protection of deposits and investments
Financial assets are protected by the deposit guarantee system. A deposit guarantee fund has been set up to protect the financial assets of depositors, from which a maximum compensation payment of EUR 100 000 can be made to depositors. The assets of small investors are also protected through a number of compensation funds or outstanding claims reserves. These funds do not provide compensation for the assets of professional investors. The maximum limit for investor protection is EUR 20 000.
