Boating
Boating in its various forms (sailing, motor-boating, rowing, canoeing) is a great way to travel and enjoy nature.
Boating in Finland is unrestricted. It is based on the Finnish Waters Act, which states that anyone can travel by boat in open areas of water and moor temporarily as long as it does not disturb anyone needlessly. Anyone in charge of a boat must also comply with the rules of good seamanship, e.g. by respecting wildlife, nature and the environment, paying attention to others on the water, taking responsibility for safety, providing help to those who need it, and by following the rules of boating.
Boating clubs organise training courses and services for anyone interested.
