Preventing crimes and accidents

Accidents can be prevented by assessing safety risks in buildings in advance. A pre-prepared safety plan helps in acting quickly in the event of an accident. Chimneys in buildings with fireplaces that are in use must be swept at regular intervals. Homes must also be equipped with fire alarms in case of fire. Safety instructions must be followed when handling and storing dangerous substances.

Anyone can phone the police information hotline with crime tip-offs. The emergency number 112 can also be used to give urgent tip-offs.
