Guidance for immigrants
In addition to local authorities, many organisations and the national churches provide guidance for immigrants and provide help with integration. Learning Finnish or Swedish is an essential requirement for integration. Language teaching is organised in some bigger towns and cities for students at various levels.
Integration training for adults is mainly labour force training. This does not lead to any qualifications.
The European Fund for Refugees provides funds for various projects on asylum procedures, the reception of refugees and asylum seekers, and projects which promote integration and voluntary remigration. In Finland, the fund is managed by the Ministry of the Interior.
