Library services for special groups
Special library services are provided for several special groups, such as the visually impaired. Celia Library for the Visually Impaired provides literature in an accessible format for all those who, owing to an illness or disability, are not able to read standard printed books. While open to everyone, the Library of the Finnish Association of the Deaf is a special library and information service for the deaf and speakers of sign language.
Children and the elderly are also among the special groups provided with special library items and additional services, such as IT courses. The Ulkomaalaiskirjasto Multilingual Library acquires literature in rare languages.
