People may not be discriminated against on grounds of sex, sexual orientation, age, origin, language, religion, faith, opinion, health, disability or another similar reason.
The Ombudsman for Equality oversees the implementation of gender equality. The Ombudsman for Minorities promotes the status and equality of ethnic minorities and foreigners in Finland outside working life. The National Discrimination Tribunal of Finland deals with ethnic discrimination in everyday life. Anyone can submit a matter to the tribunal in a case of infringement.
The Divisions of occupational health and safety at the Regional State Administrative Agencies deal with cases of discrimination in working life. You can turn to them if you think you have been discriminated against at work or in recruitment.
