People may not be discriminated against on grounds of sex, sexual orientation, age, origin, language, religion, faith, opinion, health, disability or another similar reason.
The Ombudsman for Equality oversees the implementation of gender equality. The Non-discrimination Ombudsman oversees the implementation of the Non Discrimination Act in Finland outside working life. The National Discrimination Tribunal of Finland deals with discrimination in everyday life. Anyone can submit a matter to the tribunal in a case of infringement.
The Divisions of occupational health and safety at the Regional State Administrative Agencies deal with individual cases of discrimination in working life. You can turn to them if you think you have been discriminated against at work or in recruitment.
