Consumer protection in travelling

Holidays may have to be cancelled for a number of reasons or a holiday destination does not live up to expectations. The most common problems have to do with dissatisfaction with travel destinations, in which case the travel company or hotel representative needs to be notified immediately. If things do not improve, you can claim a refund later under the Consumer Protection Act.

When booking a flight you should take precautions against possible illness. The rules and regulations concerning cancelling or changing flights are strict - and limited in the case of the cheaper tickets. You should take out travel insurance in case of illness. The policy should also cover cancellation due to illness.
