Health care services

Primary health care is provided by municipal health centres. Primary health care is provided for babies and children in child health care clinics and to school children by school health care. Specialised hospital care is provided through the hospital districts.

The so-called patient's charter ensures that, depending on the situation, urgent care will be provided either straight away or very soon in cases of serious illness. Non-urgent care must also be provided within a certain time, usually three months. In some non-urgent cases the time limit is six months.
