Culture and art

Finnish art and cultural life is characterised by a comprehensive network of cultural institutions and an abundance of cultural institutions and events. People are also active in creating culture and art in clubs, associations and organisations.

Local authorities are responsible for organising public cultural services and art education at local level. The planning of cultural policy is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Culture, which endeavours to promote all forms of art and culture.
