Grants and assistance for culture
There are many types of grants and assistance available for actors in the cultural fields. The aim is to develop culture as a diverse service available to one and all. In addition to public grants, culture is also supported by private foundations.
Support for culture is also important for the economy and employment. The main groups that receive support in the area of physical fitness are children and young people. Fitness centres that cater to a wide range of users are also supported. The Ministry of Education and Culture provides assistance in the form of statutory grants and government funding for training/education, science, culture, physical fitness and youth work projects. A major contribution to culture comes from proceeds from the Finnish National Lottery (Veikkaus).
