Changing motor liability insurance to become easier
29.03.2012
The Government has amended the Decree on Vehicle Registration. In the future, an owner of a vehicle no longer has to submit a separate notification of registration data when his or her motor liability insurance information changes. This makes it easier to compare insurance companies and their offers.
The obligation to submit vehicle registration data is transferred to insurance companies. Insurance companies are obliged to submit the notification using the electronic service of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency (Trafi). The service directs the notification of the amended data to the vehicular and driver data register.
The aim is to develop the electronic services for vehicle registration and to make vehicle registration matters easier for citizens. The Decree enters into force on 2 June 2012.
