Using the portal

You can find information on Suomi.fi by browsing, by using the A-Z index, by using the site map or by using the search functions.

The Suomi.fi main menu is in the top bar. The menu for each section appears on the left-hand side of the page. The breadcrumb trail near the top of the page shows where the current page is located in the portal.

You can enlarge or reduce the text size using the magnifying-glass buttons (Zoom in and Zoom out) at the top right-hand corner of the page.

The links on the pages always open in the same browser window. The printable form files usually open in the program application determined by their file format. The special printable versions of the pages for the elderly (in Finnish and Swedish only) open in new browser windows.

At the bottom of the topic and instructions pages you can find a link for the Printable version, which lets you view and print the page without the navigation bars.

The date when the page was last updated is at the bottom of the page.

Search

You can look for information in Suomi.fi by

• browsing the service topics
• browsing the e-services and forms
• browsing the A-Z index
• using the search functions
• using the site map.

Searches on Suomi.fi only cover the information that is actually on Suomi.fi:

• E-services and forms in the portal 
• text of the pages in the portal
• links in the portal
• municipality information available through Suomi.fi
• public sector news and Suomi.fi bulletins in the news archive
• acts, decrees and decisions selected for inclusion in the portal.

A-Z index

The A-Z index is an alphabetical list of keywords, organisations and municipalities.The Most popular keywords box on any service topic page displays the 30 most popular keywords used on that particular page.

Feedback

You can send feedback on Suomi.fi using the general and page-specific feedback forms. Feedback on links, forms and legislation in the portal should be sent directly to the bodies responsible for that content, using the feedback functions of the respective services.

Suggestions for developing the portal contents can also be sent with the form that opens from the link “Contribute your ideas!” in the bar at the bottom of the page.

Send Suomi.fi link

This functionality lets you add the Suomi.fi page to your bookmarks and send Suomi.fi pages by e-mail to the recipients of your choice. You can also share Suomi.fi content with your network in social networking services, such as Facebook, Twitter and Delicious.
