The Suomi.fi portal is a service funded by the Ministry of Finance and maintained at the State Treasury.

An exception is formed by the newsletters, whose subscription service is covered by the registry report in the portal's Newsroom section. E-mail addresses and other contact information are requested in connection with sending feedback. Users can give anonymous feedback, but can also give their contact information if they would like to receive a reply to their question or feedback.
Monitoring of use (cookies)
To develop the portal, statistical information is collected on its use. The Suomi.fi portal uses a cookie to enable more accurate reporting of the number of visits and visitors. The statistics are compiled using Piwik web analytics software programme.
Statistics are compiled on:
- the number of visitors to the entire service and individual pages
- the average duration of visits
- browsers and operating systems
- keywords
- the services from which Suomi.fi is accessed
- the locations for which Suomi.fi is departed.
Use of the portal also sends a cookie when the text size is increased or decreased by the buttons available for this. In most browsers, the cookie function can be switched off, making it possible for users to prevent the collection of information.
Copyrights
Links to the Suomi.fi portal may be added freely. You can get most of Suomi.fi’s contents in XML and JSON using the rest-based Suomi.fi API. The contents of the Service Map are available for reuse using the application's WMS/WFS API. If the contents are used in another web service, it is advisable that Suomi.fi be credited as a source: “This information is taken from the Suomi.fi portal, produced in the State Treasury.” Suomi.fi floatlets can be added to web pages without limitations.
An exception is formed by the images used on Suomi.fi; these cannot be saved to hard disks or diskettes, used in networks or reproduced without the written permission of the copyright holders. More information on the copyright of specific images is available from the Suomi.fi editorial team.
Up-to-dateness of the information
Suomi.fi aims at keeping all the links in the portal functional and leading to up-to-date information. However, this cannot be guaranteed in every case. Each public body or organisation producing information for the Suomi.fi portal is responsible for the accuracy of information on its own web pages.
The content, functionality and use of the e-services and forms in Suomi.fi are the responsibility of the party producing the services.
The functionality of the e-services, forms and links in Suomi.fi is checked automatically every night. The Suomi.fi editorial team will fix or remove the non-functional links. On e-services and forms, a request for fixing is sent to the relevant public body.
The Suomi.fi editorial team responds to the feedback sent to the portal and will forward it to the relevant public body, if necessary.
Advisory service
The Suomi.fi editorial team provides advisory service by phone and e-mail and responds to feedback from the public. Advisory service is provided only on the contents of the Suomi.fi portal, its accessibility, and the functionality of the electronic forms and e-services available in the portal.
Each state or municipal authority, organisation or public body linked to the Suomi.fi portal is responsible for the provision of advisory service on the contents of their services, the processing of e-service matters, and malfunctions in the use of forms and e-services. The Suomi.fi editorial team forwards feedback on these issues to the relevant organisation for further action. It is not possible to institute matters via the advisory service or feedback forms provided by the Suomi.fi editorial team; nor is it possible for individual citizens to enquire about details concerning the processing of their matter.
Citizen's account
Citizen's account is a secure channel for electronic communications, decisions and messages between authority and citizen. The use of Citizen’s account requires the citizen’s permission. Identification to the service is done using either personal online bank identifiers or an electronic certificate card.
